The Senior Reservoir Engineer reports directly to Manager, Reservoir Engineering and responsible:
* In ensuring that all reservoir engineering evaluations and modelling throughout the exploration and production cycle are technically robust and meet or exceed industry or regulatory standards and requirements. Coordinates the interaction with the other subsurface disciplines to ensure all subsurface data are appropriately integrated and utilized for subsurface studies and well planning.
* To maximize economic recovery and present value by managing subsurface projects, reserves, production forecasts, costs, and exploration.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Perform reservoir engineering assessments in subsurface modeling to improve production and recovery through infill drilling, gas cap blowdown, and other enhancement methods, following a solid Reservoir Management Plan (RMP).
* Make sure reservoir engineering studies and modeling workflows meet or exceed industry and regulatory standards, are suitable for their purpose, and have effective quality checks.
* Ensure reserves estimates and long-term production forecasts follow regulatory and company requirements.
* Build and maintain 3D dynamic geological models using subsurface and production data. Perform history matching and run analyses to predict outcomes, understand uncertainties, and optimize recovery.
* Use analytical methods combining subsurface and production data to find opportunities and assess reserves.
* Work well with the subsurface team (geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, production technologists) and other multidisciplinary teams.
* Fully understand and manage all projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met for tasks like seismic processing, studies, field development plans, formation evaluation, and post-drilling reports.
* Manage stakeholder expectations by providing high-quality, timely correspondence, presentations, reports, and documentation.
* Coordinate with the drilling team to support safe and successful drilling, identify risks and geohazards, and offer solutions.
* Participate in data rooms, analyze geoscience and engineering data, and provide technical advice on opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Possess a bachelor’s degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, other Engineering or equivalent qualification from recognized universities /academic institution.
* Possess at least fifteen (15) to twenty (20) years of working experience in the reservoir and petroleum engineering disciplines in the oil and gas industry, preferably with an operator.
* Essential experience in reservoir and petroleum engineering including surveillance and studies.
* Experience in understanding well behaviors and reservoir performances.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in 3D dynamic reservoir modelling (PVT, SCAL, History Matching, Prediction and Uncertainty and Optimization Sensitivity).
* Experience in analytical methods for reserves estimation and for opportunity generation.
* Experience in integration of all types of subsurface data to understand subsurface risk.
