The Manager, Production Technology reports directly to the Senior Manager, Subsurface and is responsible for leading and managing all production technology activities within Hibiscus Malaysia’s operated areas. This role ensures that all production technology evaluations and modelling across the exploration and production cycle are technically sound and in compliance with industry and regulatory standards. The Manager actively promotes and oversees the adoption of relevant technologies, workflows, and production engineering best practices in studies and projects. In addition, the role involves managing external communications with joint venture partners and regulatory bodies and coordinating closely with other subsurface disciplines to ensure full integration and utilization of all relevant data. The ultimate objective is to maximize economic recovery and present value through effective management of subsurface projects, reserves, production forecasts, costs, and exploration activities.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Lead and mentor the Production Technology team to optimize field recovery and evaluate new resource opportunities.
* Develop and maintain technical standards across all Production Technology applications.
* Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to resolve performance issues and implement production enhancement strategies, working closely with key functions like Reservoir Engineering, Well Intervention, and Operations.
* Provide Production Technology input to Development Projects, covering well design, artificial lift selection, sand control, flow assurance, and production chemistry.
* Ensure well functional specs, proposals, and design basis for infill wells and facilities include Production Technology considerations.
* Analyse well performance data (pressures, logging, surveys) and work with Wells/Petroleum Engineers to plan interventions.
* Conduct well modelling to identify and recommend enhancement activities (e.g., gas lift optimization, water shut-off, perforation).
* Screen and propose innovative production technologies and lead related technical studies (e.g., stimulation, sand control, IOR/EOR strategies).
* Maintain an updated petroleum engineering database, including intervention programs, test results, and historical production data.
* Provide technical input for well abandonment and support the development of production technology-related contracts.
* Evaluate new venture opportunities through data review and reservoir analysis, supporting business development efforts.
* Keep abreast of emerging production technologies and ensure implementation across projects.
* Work with drilling teams to ensure safe and efficient drilling operations.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, WPB commitments, and financial obligations.
* Manage stakeholder expectations by delivering high-quality technical reports, presentations, and documentation on time.
* Oversee team development through performance reviews, regular engagement, and support of HC initiatives.
* Develop staff training plans, monitor certifications, and provide mentoring and coaching.
* Support internal and external stakeholders in ensuring business continuity.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Possess a bachelor’s degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, other relevant Engineering fields, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
* 20–25 years of experience in reservoir and petroleum engineering within the oil and gas industry, preferably with an operator.
* Proven expertise in petroleum engineering and production technology.
* Experienced in gas lift design, optimization, and ESP completions monitoring and troubleshooting.
* Hands-on involvement in production enhancement and remedial work such as water/gas shut off and well stimulation.
* Experience with well intervention activities, including slickline, E-line, and coil tubing operations.
* Skilled in reservoir surveillance techniques, production logging, artificial lift systems, sand control, flow assurance, production chemistry, and data analysis.
* Experience in brownfield FDP/FFR, conceptual well completion design, sand management, tubing stress analysis, and related technical areas.
* Proficient in evaluating and implementing new technologies to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
* Experience supervising offshore well engineering activities.
* Competent in integrating multidisciplinary subsurface data for risk assessment and development planning.
* In-depth understanding of flow dynamics, near-wellbore damage, and flow assurance relevant to FDP/FFR projects.
* Strong command of Integrated Production Modelling (IPM) tools and nodal analysis.
* Capable of supporting subsurface, operations, and surveillance teams with robust technical insights.
* Well-versed in industry reporting, governance standards, and regulatory frameworks.
