Freelance Tech Lead-English Speaker

We’re looking for a highly skilled Tech Lead to join our team and take ownership of building scalable, high-performance systems across our platform. You’ll be leading technical architecture, driving best practices, and mentoring a growing engineering team.

What You’ll Do:

* Lead technical architecture and system design, focusing on backend, cloud infrastructure, and scalability.
* Take ownership of complex features and services from conception to production.
* Build and optimize backend services and APIs in Node.js with an emphasis on performance, resilience, and security.
* Contribute to frontend development in React when needed to deliver full-stack capabilities.
* Drive DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and observability using AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
* Collaborate closely with Product, Data, and Design teams to deliver impactful features.
* Set and enforce high standards for code quality, architecture, testing, and documentation.
* Coach and mentor engineers; foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Tech Stack:

* Backend: Node.js (TypeScript preferred), Express/NestJS
* Frontend: React (Hooks, Context, Vite/Webpack)
* Cloud: AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, CloudWatch, IAM)
* DevOps: Terraform / CloudFormation, Docker, GitHub Actions / CircleCI
* Databases: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis
* Other: REST APIs, GraphQL (optional), OpenAPI, Feature Flags, Logging/Monitoring (Datadog, Sentry)

What We’re Looking For:

* 8+ years of software engineering experience, with recent experience as a Principal, Staff, or Lead Engineer.
* Deep backend expertise in Node.js, with an architectural mindset.
* Experience designing and scaling distributed systems and microservices.
* Strong AWS/cloud-native experience and knowledge of security best practices.
* Proficiency in React; able to contribute meaningfully across the stack.
* Experience with CI/CD, testing strategies, monitoring, and debugging in production.
* Strong communicator; able to translate technical strategy to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
* Passion for mentorship, setting engineering standards, and creating high-performance teams.
