Description

Africa50 is a pan-African infrastructure investor and asset manager that contributes to Africa's growth by developing and investing in bankable projects, catalysing public sector capital, and mobilizing private sector funding.

Africa50 has raised over US$1 billion so far from 33 African countries, the African Development Bank, two African Central Banks and Africa’s largest pension fund. Africa50 has an independent investment process and seeks to generate commercial risk adjusted returns for its investments across key infrastructure sectors: Energy (including power generation and related parts of the value chain), Midstream gas, Transportation, ICT, Health infrastructure, Education and Fintech.

Under the guidance of the Chief of Staff (CoS)

Executive and Operational Support


* Provide input, analysis, and recommendations on issues brought to the CEO's attention either for information or for action.
* Assist the CEO with matters related to Africa50’s operations, Investment Committee and Board interactions.
* Ensure appropriate follow-through on actions, decisions, and commitments made by the CEO by coordinating with parties responsible for implementation.
* Prepare for, attend when required, and follow up on meetings with or on behalf of the CEO, and follow-up on agreed actions.
* Help with the coordination of high-level corporate meetings, special events and missions, and collaborate with the CoS to help manage the CEO’s Office and overall schedule.

Stakeholder Management and Corporate Objectives Support


* Provide support in achieving the Group's investment and fundraising objectives.
* Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of executives and staff internally and externally and keep abreast of emerging issues requiring attention.
* Review and/or provide guidance for briefs, speeches, and draft talking points for a wide spectrum of occasions.
* Develops strategic concept notes, proposals and PowerPoint presentations for the CEO Office, on new initiatives.
* Monitor progress on key projects and deliverables within the Group to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
* Conduct research and analyze trends to support decision-making and strategy development.
* Provide a broad range of analytical and liaison functions.
* Interact with the Africa50 executive team and staff to keep them informed of important matters.

Candidate Profile


* Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent qualification.
* 8 to 12 years of experience in project management or similar, in fast-pace corporate environments at international and pan-African level.
* Solid experience in project development, investment, and/or project finance in various infrastructure sectors.
* Experience in the finance industry and especially in infrastructure private equity firm is a plus.

* Fluency in both English and French is a must.

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience


* Interest in Africa50’s mission, strategy, and values.
* Proven track record of managing multi-location projects and achieving results.
* Strong business development and client relationship skills.
* Strong knowledge of data management and reporting tools, and good IT skills.
* Familiarity with equity investing, African infrastructure and established relationships in Africa are a strong plus.
