Role Overview
We are looking for a Methods Engineer responsible for the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of manufacturing processes (including special processes). The role covers manufacturing documentation, tooling, production aids, control means, and ensuring that processes comply with quality, health, safety, and ergonomic standards.
The Methods Engineer will play a key role in process improvement, supporting First Article Inspections (FAI), managing technical changes, and collaborating with suppliers and customers during audits and validations.
Key Responsibilities
* Define technical specifications for machines, tools, control means, and production aids.
* Implement technical changes in documentation for work-in-progress (WIP) products.
* Create production documentation (SOPs, formboards, lists).
* Develop and implement production aids and mistake-proofing solutions.
* Ensure quality documentation is in place (process flow, PFMEA) and support the FAI process.
* Lead manufacturing process improvements (time reduction, quality enhancement).
* Participate in local and global engineering problem-solving and development activities.
* Manage technical discussions with equipment/tooling suppliers.
* Support customer audits and process validations.
* Ensure all new processes, tools, and workstations comply with health, safety, and ergonomic requirements.
Skills & Competencies
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Problem-solving abilities using methods such as 8D and 5Why.
* Solid understanding of ISO 9001, IRIS, industry standards, and customer-specific requirements.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Strong teamwork and adaptability.
* High attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
* Proficiency in CAD software (2D & 3D – e.g., DraftSight, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Catia).
* Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
Education & Experience
* Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 and International Rail Industry Standards (IRIS).
* Experience with PPAP and APQP processes is a plus.
