Main missions:
Lead the development of assigned projects in the field of exterior lighting components, while meeting quality, performance, schedule, and cost objectives.
Responsibilities:
The holder carries out or is responsible for the following activities within their specific application domain:
* Ensure the completeness/availability of all engineering documents required for supplier consultations (Sourcing Packages) according to the project schedule. Lead the technical reviews associated with this sourcing package.
* Analyze supplier feedback (FNR), draft and defend the Technical Choice Report (RCT) with Purchasing and the project team. Deliver this report in the consultation management tool (GST) and contribute to supplier selection.
* During consultation and development phases, manage deliverables and convergence with suppliers required for the supply chain securing process.
* Guarantee and ensure component development within their domain to achieve the project’s QCDP (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Performance) objectives.
* Lead and provide project deliverables related to their component scope.
* In co-design with the component supplier, manage/monitor supplier deliverables and oversee the supplier quality process during development (e.g., APQP grid).
* Ensure technical feasibility, design robustness, manufacturability of components, and compliance of technical documentation, through coordination with engineering and the component supplier.
* Manage product FMEA execution by conducting risk assessments and provide support during process FMEA execution.
* Ensure the delivery of component prototypes at different maturity stages of development and provide them for vehicle or subsystem validation at various stages of lead and follow-up projects.
* Manage supplier relations: lead weekly technical reviews and participate in monthly purchasing reviews.
* Guarantee proper integration of components within their environment (engine / vehicle / platform / modules).
* Report critical issues or deviations from design/testing standards and identify/lead necessary actions to meet defined objectives.
* Provide documentation required for implementing technical changes, request cost evaluations, support the Subsystem Technical Lead (SSTL) during the approval phase, and guarantee the formalization of associated deliverables. Control their implementation in production according to the defined schedule and procedures.
* Ensure the completeness/availability of all documents required for project milestone reviews (TKO, SHRM, etc.).
* Support assembly plants from pilot phase to launch: training, diagnostics, technical support, problem-solving.
* Consolidate and formalize product and process validation plans (DV, PV). Manage validation execution, ensure timing compliance, report non-conformities, and validate/lead corrective actions.
* Manage the technical definition/configuration of the domain as well as the formalization of deliverables required for all project phases (from prototypes/SRU to industrial validation phases).
* Lead cost reduction initiatives and quality improvement for assigned components.
* Actively participate in action plans related to crisis management.
* Contribute to drafting technical policies led by the Design Unit Manager (DR).
* Build and enrich the technical and methodological knowledge base through experience feedback.
* Propose innovative and economically relevant ideas; participate in the validation of concept choices with pre-projects and/or projects.
* Ensure proper and efficient reporting to project stakeholders – Subsystem Technical Lot Lead (SSTL) and Subsystem Technical Manager (SSTM) – as well as to the function (DR).
* Coordinate the activities of Level 1 or 2 designers or contractors within the component scope.
Qualifications:
* Education: Engineering degree with more than 5 years of experience in automotive engineering.
* At least 3 years of experience in the lighting field.
* Knowledge of Project Management tools (PLM).
* Knowledge in mechanics, electronics, and functional safety.
* Excellent communication skills: ability to express ideas clearly, listen actively, and adapt communication to the audience.
* Team spirit and collaboration: ability to work effectively with different profiles, contribute to group dynamics, and support colleagues.
* Adaptability and handling unexpected situations: ability to remain flexible in the face of change, manage priorities, and quickly find solutions.
* English: ability to lead meetings in English with an international audience
