Role Description

* This is a full-time on-site role for an Information Technology Desktop Support specialist work from home position. We are looking for different shifts

Position Summary

The Systems Engineer I is an entry-level technical role responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving an organization’s IT infrastructure and systems. This position works closely with senior engineers and IT staff to assist with system deployment, troubleshooting, monitoring, and documentation. The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of operating systems, networking, and infrastructure technologies and is eager to grow technical expertise in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
* Monitor system performance and availability to ensure reliable operation.
* Troubleshoot and resolve basic infrastructure and system issues.
* Support virtualization platforms, cloud environments, and storage systems as needed.
* Participate in system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
* Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
* Assist with automation and scripting tasks to improve operational efficiency.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business systems and infrastructure needs.
* Respond to service tickets and provide technical support related to system infrastructure.
* Follow security best practices and assist with system compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* 0–2 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or engineering support.
* Basic knowledge of:
* Windows and/or Linux operating systems
* Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
* Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
* Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Hands-on experience supporting IT systems or infrastructure.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
* Knowledge of monitoring tools and system management platforms.
* Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
