THE ROLE

The Tech Lead takes full technical responsibility for an insurtech startup's development team and solution, driving its architecture, implementation, and operational reliability. You will lead and mentor a young engineering team, make strategic technology choices, oversee OCR, AI, and machine learning feature development, ensure strong system integrations, and maintain high standards for security and production stability. The role emphasizes autonomy, prioritization, and direct collaboration with executive leadership, guiding the team through innovation within regulated insurance environments.

MISSION

Take technical ownership of the development team and the entire solution:

• Structure the execution and processes of a young team, mentor junior engineers, and ensure overall code quality

• Make scalable architectural and technical choices

• Oversee OCR, AI, and machine learning modules

• Manage system integration with client IT systems

• Ensure production reliability (stability, performance, data security)

• Support skill growth within the team

• Report technical progress to the CEO and contribute to product direction and roadmap decisions
