Quality Engineer

In this role, you will implement and maintain world-class quality systems while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of MEQ (Manufacturing Equipment Quality) deliveries at the plant.

What will your responsibilities be?
Daily Operations & Task Execution
* Carry out daily activities to ensure production goals are met within the planned timeframes.
* Perform all administrative tasks related to the role, including documentation and reporting.
Process Improvement & Quality Enhancement
* Continuously improve production processes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
* Propose and implement improvements to work processes, ensuring compliance with procedures and operational instructions.
* Identify areas lacking defined processes and coordinate with the Engineering Department to establish them.
Production Coordination & Resource Management
* Coordinate the production process to meet long-term plans for sewing operators.
* Allocate resources and skills effectively to meet production targets and quality standards.
* Support the Engineering Department in implementing layout changes in the production unit.
Standards & Compliance
* Ensure proper implementation of working instructions defined by Engineering and Quality departments.
* Assist in LPA (Layered Process Audit), 5S audits, and ADIENT Manufacturing System assessments.
* Ensure compliance with customer requirements (CR/CSR) and respond with urgency to exceed expectations.
Team Leadership & Development
* Lead a team by promoting high standards of behavior and professionalism.
* Encourage a high-performance culture where continuous improvement suggestions are welcomed.
* Monitor individual team member performance and provide guidance and feedback as needed.
* Plan and support training and development initiatives for team members.
Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?
* Engineering degree in quality or industrial management
* 3-5 years of experience in the same position in the automotive industry
* Experience in a textile or a cover sewing plant is preferable
* Strong knowledge of quality management systems
* Proficiency in problem-solving tools: 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green Belt certification is a plus)
* Familiarity with Layered Process Audits (LPA), 5S, and VAVE
* Understanding of control plans, PPAP, SPC, and MSA
* Competence in using Microsoft Office and ERP/MES systems
* Customer-focused mindset with a sense of urgency
