Opportunity Overview
The role involves understanding of Client requirements, local market conditions, supplier capabilities, and logistics challenges specific to the region.
Responsibilities
* Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for material handling systems, conveyor components (idlers, pulleys, belts, rollers, motors, drives, etc.) and complete conveyor systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
* Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers, building and maintaining strong relationships with key vendors, and coordinate with client for approval of vendors.
* Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and service level agreements.
* Cost Management: Implement strategies to reduce procurement costs, including competitive bidding, price negotiation, and value engineering.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the supply chain, such as material shortages, price volatility, and supplier performance issues.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure that all purchased components and systems meet quality standards and specifications.
* Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, relevant regulations, and safety standards.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, finance and operations teams and other departments, including external client, to ensure seamless execution of procurement activities.
* Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance, including cost savings, supplier performance, and risk mitigation activities.
* Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and pricing changes in the material handling and conveyor market.
Qualifications
B.E. / B.Tech. – Mechanical
Language Proficiency:
Proficiency in French and Arabic language is a must.
Experience:
* Candidate with 10-12 years of experience, specializing in material handling packages, conveyor systems. Need to have a strong understanding of procurement process and conveyor technology.
* Experience with local and global suppliers of material handling systems, conveyor components and a strong network with these manufacturers is a must.
* Priority to Morocco nationals / residents or candidates who are working in Morocco or have earlier worked in Morocco
Required Skills
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Proficiency in contract management and legal aspects of procurement.
* Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
