About the Position:
The position is based at the laboratory of ALS at Zgounder Mine, Taroudant, Morocco, and reports to the Laboratory Manager, ALS Morocco. ALS operates 24/7, and the Maintenance Technician must be able to work shifts and flexible hours. The maintenance technician's responsibilities are not restricted to the list below and are subject to change depending on business needs.

Role of the Maintenance Technician:
• The maintenance manager will report directly to the laboratory director at Zgounder.
• It is the responsibility of the maintenance technician to keep the laboratory director informed in a timely manner of any major issues occurring in the laboratory related to, but not limited to, machines, equipments, HSE, QA/QC etc.
• Set an example to promote safety awareness and compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
• Performing maintenance of electrical systems
• Investigate any incidents to ensure that lessons learned are captured and disseminated to all relevant parties.
• Perform ALS activities in a safe manner and in accordance with the ALS safety manual, policy, and/or related procedures.
• Notify the safety manager/management of any unsafe equipment or work practices and ensure safety, if necessary.
• Perform activities collaboratively and in accordance with ALS published procedural requirements.
• Maintain equipment maintenance records as required by ISO17025.
• Record all tasks/chores performed daily/weekly in each piece of equipment's logbook.
• Implement safety improvements according to H&S agent guidelines.
• Work as an integral part of the laboratory or maintenance team.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery as needed.
• Ensure that maintenance of machinery and the laboratory is completed in a timely manner.
• Prioritize and complete repairs as requested by the supervisor or manager.
• Conduct daily site visits as necessary and report and repair any defects found.
• Be available to travel to laboratories in the sub-region to assist the project facilities team upon request.
• Produce a monthly report describing the main tasks/changes completed or pending
Produce a monthly report on equipment updates with recommendations
Technical Skills required for the role:
• Ability to interpret specifications and schematics
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent French and English communication, reporting writing, and presentation skills.
Qualifications required for the role:
• A minimum secondary Degree in Engineering or a related field is required
• 3+years’ experience in Supervising role and 5 years experience in maintenance work
• Automatism and pneumatic knowledge will be a plus.
