Job Title: IT Field Operations Engineer
Main Missions:
The IT Field Operations Engineer is responsible for executing technical deployments and providing on-site support for IT infrastructure and end-user computing.
This role ensures the proper setup, maintenance, and operation of equipment, collaborating with network engineers and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Additionally, they handle procurement and asset inventory management to maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
· Technical Deployment
o Execute technical setups and support activities at visa center sites
o Perform racking and cabling of servers, switches, and other equipment
o Collaborate with network engineers for equipment installation and initial configuration
o Oversee contractors' work, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines
o Travel on missions within the country and abroad as required by business need
· Maintenance and Support
o Maintain OS and application installations, including security patches
o Monitor and maintain cooling systems, PDUs, UPS systems, and other infrastructure to prevent downtime
o Assist with user account and permission management
o Fixing and maintaining printers, scanners, biometric kits, kiosks, and other IT equipment
o Troubleshoot, upgrade, and optimize existing infrastructures to improve overall performance and meet evolving requirements
· Surveillance and Endpoint Management
o Set up and maintain surveillance systems, such as QVR Pro, livestreams, and door access controls
o Manage inventory, user accounts, and mobile devices, ensuring compliance with company policies
o Ensure regular updates and security patching for endpoints
· Procurement and Asset Management
o Handle procurement of IT equipment and ensure timely delivery to support operations
o Maintain accurate records of IT assets and manage asset inventory effectively
o Source hardware equipment and organize comprehensive buying lists, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality with collaboration with Procurement team
· Other Responsibilities
o Collaborate with vendors for service contracts and equipment maintenance
o Participate in audits and support resolution of findings
o Highlight incidents and escalate issues when necessary
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional trainings
· 2+ years of professional experience with technology systems engineering
· Hands-on experience with IT deployments, cabling, and equipment setups
· Experience with routers & switches is required
· Experience in VMware or any virtualization environment is required
· Experience in MS Active Directory is required
· Knowledge and experience with the following (the more, the better): Linux (RHEL, Debian), Bash, VMware, Microsoft Office, Windows servers, PowerShell, Windows 11, MacOS
· Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
· Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
· Exposure to international and multicultural work environment
· Fluency in English (B2 level equivalent)
