Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer – Tangier Greenfield Plant

About the Role

About the Role As an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer for our new greenfield plant in Tangier, you will play a key role in ensuring full compliance with Moroccan regulations and international standards, while aligning with Sunwoda’s global EHS strategy. You will lead the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of EHS programs to safeguard our employees, assets, and the environment. In this role, you will drive a proactive safety culture, support the safe launch and operations of the plant, and contribute to our sustainable growth in the automotive and locomotive wiring harness business.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensure full compliance with Moroccan EHS regulations and international standards (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001).
* Establish, implement, and maintain an EHS management system tailored to a greenfield environment.
* Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards, proposing and applying effective preventive measures.
* Lead incident investigations (accidents, near misses, environmental issues), define root causes, and drive corrective actions.
* Design and deliver training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness to strengthen a safety-first culture.
* Monitor and improve environmental performance (waste management, energy efficiency, emissions reduction).
* Develop and test emergency response plans to ensure site preparedness.
* Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to integrate EHS requirements in projects, processes, and equipment installation.
* Ensure that contractors and suppliers fully comply with EHS standards during construction and operations.
* Act as the main contact for regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and external audits.
* Maintain up-to-date EHS records, reports, and documentation in line with corporate and legal requirements.
* Promote continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Sunwoda’s global EHS strategy
