The Analyst, IT Applications reports directly to the Manager, Application and works closely with business users to understand their processes and requirements, recommend improvements, and implement effective software solutions. The role requires a strong understanding of software development methodologies, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience in software implementation and support. In addition, the Analyst is expected to collaborate with clients to identify business requirements, configure and deliver solutions that enhance operations, and provide both functional and technical support for IT business applications within the business unit. Knowledge of specific software products or technologies may also be required depending on business and industry needs.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Understand client requirements and business processes and translate them into technical specifications for software solutions.
* Configure and customize software solutions to meet client and business needs.
* Conduct system testing, prepare documentation, and provide training to end-users.
* Provide technical support during implementation and post-implementation phases.
* Collaborate with internal development teams to identify and implement improvements in software solutions.
* Conduct workshops and presentations to educate clients on best practices and new features.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
* Continuously learn and stay updated on the latest software technologies and industry trends.
* Perform IT application support activities, including maintenance, administration, BAU support, and project implementation.
* Work closely with internal support teams, software principals, and business users to provide operational support and ensure timely resolution of IT application-related incidents and service requests.
* Partner with business users to understand requirements, propose and define potential solutions, and facilitate the design and deployment of IT solutions that support business strategy.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in application support, database management, and system troubleshooting.
* Proven experience in IT business analysis, translating business requirements into IT solutions.
* Hands-on experience in software implementation and support, preferably in a consulting or customer-facing role.
* Demonstrated ability to propose improvements, solve complex problems, and adapt quickly to new technologies and business contexts.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and explain technical concepts in business terms.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively within a team.
* Customer-focused, energetic, and results-oriented, with the ability to work under time pressure.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
* Strong technical foundation in software development methodologies, databases (Oracle & MS SQL Server), and operating systems.
* Familiarity with programming languages such as .NET Framework, ASP.NET, Java, SQL, and Visual Basic is an added advantage.
* Knowledge of Oil & Gas industry applications (e.g., PI Historian, OpenWell) preferred.
* Experienced in IT integration projects using SDLC and/or Agile methodologies.
* ITIL Foundation Certification (required).
* Database Fundamentals (preferred).
* Vendor-specific application certifications (e.g., OpenWell, PI) are an advantage.
