Senior DevOps Engineer

The Java Platform Group is seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated Software Infrastructure Engineer (DevOps) to join our world-class development efforts. Our team is responsible for delivering the Java platform used by millions of developers. We're looking for a seasoned engineer with a deep understanding of infrastructure and automation methodologies, a strong technical background, and a desire to make a significant impact on our product and processes.

Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure services to build, test, and release the Java Platform product.
* Enhance efficiency, productivity, and consistency of software releases through robust infrastructure automation.
* Create tools/frameworks to improve CI/CD efficiency and automation.
* Collaborate with distributed teams to scope out new requirements and implement them as actionable tasks.
* Lead process improvements and implement productivity-enhancing tools.

Job Requirements

* Experience in Software Development and/or DevOps.
* Good Java knowledge - will be plus
* Understanding of concurrency, multi-threading and collections
* Solid understanding of at least one cloud provider (OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP).
* Hands-on experience with GIT and Linux administration.
* Proficiency in writing shell scripts.
* Experience with build automation tools such as Make, Ant, Maven, or Gradle.
* Familiarity with CI tools like Jenkins or equivalent.
* Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
* Experience with containerization and orchestration tools: writing Docker images and setting up test environments and using Kubernetes, Mesos, or similar platforms.
* Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
* Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
* Ability to lead initiatives and collaborate across distributed teams.
