Linguist

TELUS Digital (“TIAI”) is looking for French-speaking linguists located in Morocco for the new Accents Data Collection Project.

Task description:

A linguist will be invited to listen to audio samples (each approx. 30 s long) to assess the regional accent and language of the participant and then verify if the transcription provided is correct, fix it if required and evaluate if the task is completed in line with the instructions, report issues regarding background noise, etc.

Work load:

The tasks will become available on an almost daily basis and the volume will vary daily.

Overall time spent on the whole project will vary from 2 to 4 hours.

The Project can be completed remotely from the comfort of your own home.

Expected Project Duration: August – November 2025

Estimated time per task: up to 2.5 mins

Qualification path:

To be eligible to be considered for the Project you must meet the following criteria:

● Speaker of French

● Currently located in Morocco

● Pass the French Fluency Test and the English Fluency Test

● A linguistic background (education and/or experience) is required. Particularly, we are looking for a few of the following... (note that you are not required to have all the requirements listed below, just a few will suffice):

-Linguist or Phonetician: Specializing in the study of language sounds and accents.

-Dialectologist: Focusing on regional language variations and dialects.

-Language Teacher or Researcher: Experienced in identifying and teaching various accents.

-Voice Actor Coach: Helping actors perfect specific accents for roles.

-AI Speech Recognition Specialist: Developing and improving accent recognition in speech-to-text systems.

-Advanced degree in linguistics, phonetics, or a related field

-Extensive exposure to various languages and accents

-Training in phonetic transcription and acoustic analysis

-Experience with speech analysis software

-Experience in transcription

● 18 +

● Access to a computer (desktop/laptop) and stable Internet connection

● This is an independent contractor opportunity.

Participants that are selected for the Project as linguist reviewer will receive: :

$1.10 per item (based on the estimated average productivity, the hourly rate will be approx. $26.43)

Payments are made via TELUS International AI Community Portal.

Raters who relocate to another country during their participation should always inform the production team of their move.
