As it builds its leadership team, The Growth Engine is recruiting its Senior Legal Manager to design and lead the entity’s legal strategy and operations in alignment with its ambitious growth and investment goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide legal guidance on strategic decisions and risk management.
* Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring legal protection across all operations.
* Define and implement legal strategies and frameworks for Growth Engine and its ventures.
* Support venture creation with foundational legal documents, equity structuring, IP protection, and compliance.
* Ensure regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
* Manage legal disputes and oversee litigation if needed.
* Supervise external legal counsel in Morocco and key international markets.
* Manage legal risks related to venture funding, spin-offs, exits, and international growth.
* Standardize legal templates for operations, partnerships, and investments.
Profile & Qualifications
* Advanced degree in Business Law with qualifications to practice corporate law in Morocco.
* 10+ years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally with exposure to venture capital, startups, or technology-based environments.
* Strong knowledge of corporate, contract, and regulatory law.
* Solid experience in drafting and negotiating a broad range of legal documents (e.g., shareholder agreements, commercial contracts, etc.).
* Experience with early-stage legal matters, equity allocation, convertible instruments, and startup governance.
* Familiarity with venture capital term sheets and investment agreements.
* Understanding of international legal frameworks (particularly France and US/Delaware).
* Experience managing IP matters and legal aspects of commercialization.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Fluency in both English and French.
* A network of specialist law firms in key markets is a plus
