The Procurement function is composed of over 500 colleagues in over 50 countries focused on the supply of goods and services. We are responsible for over 15,000 suppliers with whom we source over $400m with each year. After staff pay, this represents Save the Children’s largest expenditure and is a critical enabler to ensure our programmes and advocacy work achieve impact for children.

The Strategic Sourcing Team is a core part of Procurement and is responsible for the strategy and approach to sourcing across all office locations. Specific responsibilities include:


* Ensuring the right global supply solutions are in place by completing above country sourcing activities.
* Suppliers are managed effectively, in order to achieve maximum value for money.
* Ensuring the right strategies are in place for all locally sourced goods / services by implementing category strategies.
* Providing support and guidance to local procurement staff, through formal training / capacity building programmes and ad hoc support.
* Ensuring that procurement policy / procedures / tools etc. are up to date, relevant and well understood by all staff.

Role purpose

To support the delivery of compliant, effective and efficient procurement for the London office and Global Functions, whilst achieving Value for Money. This will involve supporting the Procurement Manager,

completing sourcing activities, partnering with key stakeholders and providing Procurement system and procedural support to customers.Principal

Accountabilities


* Responsible for leading sourcing events for the Global Functions in line with our category-specific sourcing strategies.
* Responsible for ProSave user adoption and issue resolution of ProSave queries for our Global Functions

working closely with the integrated support model..


* Responsible for ProSave and Procurement training for new joiners in the Global Functions and refresher training to SLT’s teams.
* Support the ProSave Functional Support and IT with complex issues (including change requests and

system design) relating complex system needs of the global functions.


* Support the Procurement Manager with Supplier Management activities e.g. Annual Business Reviews.
* Represent Procurement in Global Function’s team meetings

* The role works closely with Global Functions Budget Holders and Requesters (e.g. IT, Insurance, RMCE, HR etc.), Supplier Operations, Legal, Finance & Accounts Payable, and Supply Chain Analysts to ensure alignment cross functionally and organization wide.

* Third party suppliers (TBC which suppliers depending on scope of role)
* Sector bodies / working groups – e.g. Logs Cluster, IAPG, WREC etc.
