We are currently looking for a highly motivated Instrumentation Engineer to join our Equipment Engineering Department / Electrical & Instrumentation Department, a core technical function supporting production automation, process control, and industrial reliability. The selected candidates will benefit from a 6-month technical training program in China, focused on advanced instrumentation systems, automation technologies, and industrial best practices in a high-performance engineering environment.


Position Overview

This role is part of a key technical team responsible for ensuring the selection, maintenance, calibration, and optimization of industrial instrumentation and control systems.

The Instrumentation Engineer guarantees the accurate and reliable measurement of critical process parameters such as:

* Temperature
* Pressure
* Flow rate
* Liquid level

This ensures process stability, operational safety, and product quality.


Main Responsibilities


1. Instrument maintenance & troubleshooting

* Perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of field instrumentation
* Conduct periodic inspection, calibration, and repair of pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flowmeters, level gauges, and analytical instruments
* Resolve signal anomalies, drift, and measurement issues to ensure high accuracy and reliability

2. Project engineering (new builds & retrofit)

* Participate in instrument selection, installation, and commissioning for new projects and upgrades
* Define technical specifications based on process requirements
* Supervise installation quality and ensure loop checking and functional testing

3. DCS / PLC systems support

* Maintain instrumentation-related components of DCS and PLC systems
* Diagnose failures in I/O cards and communication modules
* Work closely with Process Engineers to optimize control logic and adjust PID parameters
* Collaborate with Electrical Engineers to ensure integrated automation performance

4. Calibration & asset management

* Build and maintain a complete instrument register for the plant
* Develop and manage calibration and verification schedules
* Monitor execution of calibration plans
* Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability of critical instruments

5. Smart instrumentation & continuous improvement

* Identify outdated or low-precision instruments through operational data analysis
* Propose modernization solutions (smart instruments, wireless monitoring systems, etc.)
* Participate in implementation and performance evaluation of upgrades
* Contribute to increasing plant automation and digitalization level


Profile Requirements


Education & background

* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Measurement & Control Technology and Instrumentation, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related fields
* Strong foundation in sensor principles, automatic control theory, and industrial instrumentation


Technical skills

* Understanding of industrial instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level) and selection principles
* Basic knowledge of DCS and PLC system architectures
* AutoCAD or EPLAN skills are a strong plus


Experience

* Internship or hands-on experience in instrumentation maintenance or commissioning in chemical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industries is preferred
* Alternatively, strong academic/lab/project experience in instrumentation or sensors is required


Competencies

* Strong precision mindset and attention to detail
* Good analytical and data interpretation skills
* Strong on-site troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
* Fast learning ability and adaptability to new technologies


Preferred qualifications

* Understanding of critical process parameters in electrolyte or industrial production (flow control, concentration analysis, etc.)
* Experience with smart instrumentation or wireless monitoring systems
* Certifications such as Metrology Engineer, Instrument Technician, or equivalent are a plus
