PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Planning of inland transports in the most cost-effective way and in accordance with vendors selection and service level agreement. Monitoring of vendors performances, delay and exception handling and transport optimization. Facilitates the movement of import CH, keeping customers satisfied. Provides immediate response to customer inquiries related to inland activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
• Execute transport instruction as per Customer request.
• Coordinates moves in the most cost-effective manner possible and in accordance to service level requirements.
• Creates work orders to and from rail/port for import and export cargo.
• Monitors transport execution to ensure prompt delivery.
• Monitors trucker and equipment accessibility to determine the availability of one-way transports for cost saving opportunities.
• Clarifies invoice and work order discrepancies, correcting when needed.
• Monitors and evaluates haulers performance and issue service exceptions when needed.
• Updates and distributes truck and rail transport limitations, heavy transport blockage calendar, strikes etc.
• Handle oncarriage activities needed before vessel arrival (T1 request, Rail notification to ports terminal for correct stowage at yard, fast corridor declaration)
• Contacts internal and external customers via e-mail and phone when additional information is necessary for inland activities of CH shipments.
• Contacts customers if goods are placed on hold by Customs for CH containers.
• Support resolution of disputes related to inland costs (no workflow handling)
• Coordinates with terminal operations to assure efficient and effective handling of CH shipments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Diploma / University Degree
2/3y experience in Maritime and logistics Industry
English: medium level
