The role:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to lead our migration from cloud-managed Kubernetes to an on-premise virtualized infrastructure using Proxmox and a self-managed Kubernetes distribution.

This is a hands-on technical role where you'll architect and implement the complete infrastructure transformation while establishing operational procedures for the new environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and execute migration strategy from cloud K8s to on-premise Proxmox + K8s infrastructure
* Build and manage Proxmox virtualization cluster with high availability
* Deploy and configure production-ready Kubernetes distribution (RKE2, K3s, or similar)
* Implement monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery systems
* Migrate existing applications with minimal downtime
* Create documentation and standard operating procedures
* Optimize performance and resource allocation across the infrastructure

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:

* 3+ years production Kubernetes experience
* Hands-on virtualization experience (Proxmox preferred, VMware/Hyper-V acceptable)
* Linux system administration proficiency
* Infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
* Cloud-to-on-premise migration experience
* Networking, storage, and security fundamentals
* Scripting skills (Bash, Python)

Language Requirements:

* English: Required (fluent written and spoken)
* Spanish: Strong advantage
* French: Nice to have

Work Environment Requirements:

* Stable, high-speed internet connection
* Secure, private workspace (no coffee shops, internet cafes, or shared spaces)

Preferred Qualifications

* Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD)
* Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
* Service mesh technologies knowledge
* Previous offshore/international client experience
