Head of Decarbonisation

A global organization focused on energy transition is seeking a Head of Decarbonization to oversee the delivery of decarbonization advisory projects in Morocco. This leadership role involves building and managing a local team, combining local, international, and internal expertise, while driving the implementation of innovative, low-carbon solutions across various industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the delivery of decarbonization projects for third-party clients, integrating advanced technology solutions such as renewable power systems, low-emission mining and logistics, and operational efficiency strategies.
* Ensure robust renewable energy supply and management, including firming variable supply, optimizing energy usage, and deploying leading energy management software.
* Oversee the transition of heavy industrial and logistics equipment from fossil fuels to electric or alternative green energy sources, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and conducting cost-benefit analysis for green deployment.
* Define and implement efficient operational models aligned with sustainable mining practices, using best-in-class planning tools and change management strategies to embed a high-performance, values-driven team culture.
* Attract, retain, and develop a multidisciplinary team of renewable energy and green operations experts capable of advising and executing on complex decarbonization initiatives.
* Build credible technical expertise in the integration of large-scale renewable energy systems within heavy industrial environments.
* Develop a deep understanding of the economic models and funding structures necessary for large-scale green energy infrastructure projects.
* Manage the delivery of existing advisory contracts using the organization's suite of decarbonization solutions, software, and operational systems.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the region, including advisory services and renewable energy system deployments.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., R&D, operations) to ensure alignment on emerging green technologies and the development of scalable, commercially viable solutions.
* Monitor, report, and ensure alignment of Moroccan (or regional) decarbonization activities with broader strategic goals.
* Support the development and execution of joint ventures or strategic partnerships in the region to expand service offerings.
* Ensure full compliance with local regulations related to energy, environment, labor, tax, and foreign operations.

Profile:

* Proven leadership experience in project management, sustainability, and decarbonization technologies.
* Strong ability to lead complex, cross-functional teams and drive transformational change.
* In-depth knowledge of renewable energy systems, sustainable industrial equipment, and operational excellence in decarbonized settings.

Experience Knowledge

· 15+ years plus working in the area of Energy Management and

Energy Transition (across multiple energy types)

· 10+ years managing large teams to successfully deliver

complex projects

· Worked within regulatory environments in green power in

* Morocco · Robust understanding of Renewable Power systems · Robust understanding of heavy industry operations · Commercial decision-making models

Education

· Post-graduate degree in relevant area (e.g. Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science)
