This is an expatriate position requiring relocation to Kinshasa - Democratic Republic of Congo.
Financial Planning and Budgeting:
* Develop and maintain project budgets in collaboration with project managers and other stakeholders.
* Create financial forecasts and update them regularly based on project progress and cost trends.
* Ensure the alignment of the project budget with overall company financial goals and objectives.
Cost Control and Variance Analysis:
* Monitor and control project costs, including labour, materials, and overhead expenses.
* Perform detailed variance analysis to identify discrepancies between budgeted and actual costs.
* Work with project teams to take corrective actions in case of cost overruns or budget misalignment.
Project Financial Reporting:
* Prepare and deliver detailed financial reports, including project profit and loss (P&L) statements, cash flow projections, and budget analysis.
* Present financial data to senior management and project stakeholders to support decision-making.
* Ensure that financial reporting complies with corporate guidelines and external regulations.
Revenue Recognition and Invoicing:
* Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with project contracts and accounting standards.
* Manage invoicing and payment schedules in collaboration with project teams to ensure timely billing and cash collection.
* Handle financial documentation related to contracts, change orders, and scope changes.
Cash Flow and Working Capital Management:
* Track and manage the cash flow of projects, ensuring sufficient liquidity for project operations.
* Work with treasury and finance teams to optimize working capital and funding for project- related activities.
* Monitor payment terms with vendors and clients to ensure healthy cash flow.
Audit and Compliance:
* Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
* Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary financial reports and documentation.
* Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping for project financials.
Collaboration and Communication:
* Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, engineers, and clients to provide financial insights and updates.
* Act as the financial liaison between the project teams and the finance department.
* Provide financial training and guidance to non-financial team members.
Financial Systems and Tools:
* Use financial and accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) to maintain accurate project financial data.
* Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance the efficiency of financial control and reporting.
* Ensure that all financial data related to projects is properly recorded and easily accessible for reporting purposes.
Required candidate profile:
* Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
* A master’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration will be a definite advantage.
* Chartered Accountant with ACCA or Similar
* Hold at least 10 years of related experience
* Bilingual and fluent in both English and French is a must
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience of working internationally (preference for Africa)
* Implementation of ERP software, hence to parallelly run on two software till the software is fully implemented.
* Should be able to pass the various entries in the software as required from time to time
* Should be flexible enough to go Bank and do any function in the Accounts and Finance department as the situation demands.
