Purpose of the Role

The Finance and Accounting consultant reports to the Senior Financial Controller. The purpose of the role is to provide support in terms of general and analytical accounting, audit, financial administration, financial management of the Africa50 Group. The resource will ensure the preparation of the quarterly management accounts, annual statutory accounts, monthly budget consumption reporting, monthly treasury forecast reporting and assist in the digitalization of Finance processes.

Principal Responsibilities

* Assist in the digitalization of Finance processes (in priority Budget Process, Budget consumption, VAT claim, management accounts, Treasury forecast and others to come).
* Ensure Timely and Accurate bookkeeping, and overall quality of financial statements, management accounts and other financial reports are up to the required standards.
* Collaborate with the Senior Financial Controller to prepare Notes to the Financials statements both in English and French.
* Prepare the periodic financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
* Perform the analysis of the Financials including forecasts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Treasury) and prepare PowerPoint presentations for Management and the Board.
* Prepare and monitor the operating budget.
* Participate in the interaction with internal and external auditors
* Help enhance the quality of the financial reporting considering the feedback from the auditors, the Management and the Board.
* Support in delivering NO Audit findings in covered scope and -if any- ensure proper mitigations are followed up properly.
* Manage the day-to-day relationship with banks.
* Prepare Bank reconciliations and ensure they are done monthly accurately and timely
* Prepare the monthly treasury reporting including actual and forecast
* Assist in the annual inventory of fixed assets.

Candidate Profile

Required Background

* 5+ years in a renowned international audit firm, investment firm or financial services company.
* Strong experience of IFRS accounting standards.
* Bachelor’s degree, MBA or MSc would be a plus.
* Demonstrated academic excellence.
* Advanced knowledge of MS Pack Office and especially Excel.

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
* Mastering the Accounting, Tax, Treasury and Statutory reporting in accordance with IFRS and other local standards.
* Strong experience of preparing and analyzing financial reports and ability to prepare and assess financial statements and budget documents.
* Experience in Accounting System, Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint…)
* Advanced Analytical skills, mastering Analytical tools is a plus (Tableau, Power BI).
* Culturally sensitive, able to relate to people of diverse backgrounds; living experience in emerging countries is a plus.

Language Requirements

Superior written and verbal communication skills in English and French.

Location

The position will be based in Casablanca.
