Modernization of terminal IT infrastructure to provide industry standard cyber security, high-availability and service management.

Highly experienced Data Centre Technician with 5+ years of expertise in managing data centre operations, racking, stacking, and cabling. Skilled in optimizing data centre infrastructure, ensuring uptime, and maintaining organized, efficient server rooms. Proven track record of managing equipment installations, troubleshooting issues, and working with cross-functional teams to support business-critical systems. Strong attention to detail with hands-on experience in maintaining hardware, network systems, and power supplies.

Responsibilities

* Perform racking, stacking, and cabling of servers, switches, routers, and storage devices following industry standards.
* Troubleshoot and resolve network and connectivity issues with various cabling systems (fibre optics, CAT5/6).
* Maintain physical infrastructure, including cable management, air flow, power distribution, and environmental monitoring systems.
* Implement data centre infrastructure management (DCIM) tools to track assets, power usage, and environmental metrics.
* Develop and maintain thorough documentation of equipment, layouts, and cabling to ensure smooth operations and future scalability.
* Deploy and configure routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
* Set up VLANs, subnetting, and IP addressing for efficient network operations.
* Implement QoS (Quality of Service) for prioritizing critical traffic (e.g., VoIP, video).
* Configure firewalls Cisco ASA and intrusion prevention systems (IPS/IDS).
* Implement Network Access Control (NAC).
* Perform the deployment and installation of servers, networking equipment, and storage solutions.
* Assist with server decommissioning, moving old hardware, and securely recycling obsolete devices.
