The Open Library on Green Economy (OLGE) is a nonprofit knowledge initiative being built as an open public good. Our mission is to make sustainability and green economy knowledge accessible, neutral, and useful for real-world learning and decision-making.
As OLGE grows, we are building a dedicated digital community for people interested in sustainability, climate, and green economy topics.
Role Overview
The Community Associate will build and grow OLGE’s WhatsApp community from the ground up.
This is an execution-focused role. Content for outreach and engagement will be provided. The core responsibility is distribution, routing, and structured community building across platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook.
You will help convert passive readers into active community members.
Key Responsibilities
1. Community Growth
* Build a WhatsApp group/community from scratch
* Drive member acquisition through structured outreach
* Route interested individuals from LinkedIn and Facebook to the WhatsApp group
2. Content Distribution
* Post pre-approved content in relevant LinkedIn posts and Facebook groups
* Identify relevant sustainability and climate communities online
* Ensure consistent posting and follow-through
3. Community Engagement
* Share provided content regularly within the WhatsApp group
* Maintain basic moderation and group hygiene
* Encourage discussion and participation in a structured manner
4. Tracking & Feedback
* Maintain a simple tracker of outreach and growth metrics
* Share weekly updates on member growth and engagement
* Suggest improvements based on what is working
Nature of Engagement
* Volunteer role
* Flexible but execution-oriented
* Approximately 5–8 hours per week
* Minimum suggested commitment: 3 months
Who This Role Is For

You do not need prior experience in sustainability, but interest in the subject is important.

There is no remuneration associated with this role.
