Our global trading offices are staffed by experienced traders who count Gas, Crude Oil, Light and Middle Distillates, as well as Bitumen, as their specialties. The traders are supported by skilled shipping and financial operations personnel, headquartered in Athens.
Main Purpose
The role is responsible for ensuring that the company’s accounting records are accurately maintained, in full compliance with internal procedures and with a strong focus on the reliability of financial data. The position involves recording all accounting transactions and supporting the preparation of financial closings, as well as tax and social security filings.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the rigorous maintenance accounting records in compliance with the local accounting standards.
* Manage the recording of accounting transactions (invoices, payments, bank operations).
* Enter and verify supplier and customer invoices in accordance with internal procedures and compliance rules.
* Record bank transactions (inflows/outflows), perform bank reconciliations, and justify any discrepancies.
* Prepare tax declarations (VAT, other local taxes) and participate in monthly and annual closing activities.
* Organize and archive accounting documents (invoices, slips, payment orders, supporting documents).
* Maintain remote communication with local stakeholders (banks, suppliers, customers)
* Contribute to back-office administrative tasks related to accounting and financial activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Bachelor degree in Accounting / Finance / Controlling (Min BAC+5)
* 5-7 years related experience in Multi-national companies or accounting office (Cabinet)
* Proven experience as an accountant
* Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Dynamics..)
* Great attention to detail
* Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
* Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
* Good knowledge and understanding of tax and corporate related laws
* Good knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
* Fluency in English is a plus
* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights for investment decision-making.
* Ability to work accurately under pressure
* Ability to prioritize deliverables and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment or individually.
