Job Overview

Lead the Manufacturing & Process Development team to optimize manufacturing performance, drive continuous improvement, and ensure achievement of quality, safety, delivery, cost, and process reliability objectives.

Your Main Tasks

  • Leads and develops the Manufacturing & Process Development team to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives.

  • Defines departmental priorities, objectives and resource allocation in line with plant strategy.

  • Supervises Manufacturing & Process Development Engineers and Technicians, ensuring effective execution of projects and daily support activities.

  • Coordinates cross-functional collaboration between Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, Tooling, Maintenance and Project teams.

  • Reviews and approves manufacturing process improvements, technical changes and industrialization activities.

  • Monitors department KPIs and drives continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality and efficiency.

  • Ensures adequate staffing, skill development, succession planning and training of team members.

  • Supports the development and implementation of manufacturing strategies, technologies and capacity plans.

  • Oversees the qualification and validation of new processes, equipment and product changes.

  • Reviews and approves process impact assessments, investment requests and cost evaluations.

  • Ensures compliance with Quality Management System requirements, company standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Manages the departmental budget and monitors expenditures related to projects and operational activities.

  • Leads performance management activities, including objective setting, performance reviews and development plans.

  • Coaches, mentors and motivates employees to support their professional growth and engagement.

  • Ensures effective communication and collaboration within the team and across plant functions.

  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, safety and operational excellence.

Your Ideal Background

  • Engineering degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or similar discipline

  • Significant experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Development or Production environment (5+ years preferred).

  • Previous experience in team leadership, supervision or coordination of technical teams.

  • Practical hands-on approach to problem solving.

  • Experience of working to demanding production targets.

  • Understanding production costs including waste, downtime, scrap and re-work.

  • Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Reading technical drawings and plans.

  • Competence in several technical fields: Assembly, Automation, Cutting, Stamping, Tooling, Metallurgy.

  • Interpretation of metrology reports.

  • Ability to lead groups and influence others (training, workshops, working groups).

  • Knowledge of the QMS, quality tools (SPC, FMEA, problem-solving tools, etc.) and compliance with procedures.

  • Strong analytical skills, rigor, initiative and ability to communicate objectives.

  • Knowledge of measurement systems.

  • Understanding of engineering drawings.

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.

  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.

  • Planning and prioritizing activities.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
