Position: Senior Accountant – General Ledger & Reporting

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing month-end closings, preparing financial statements, handling balance sheet reconciliations, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Accounting:

* Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications in line with accounting policies.
* Perform monthly balance sheet and P&L account reconciliations.
* Maintain the accuracy and intactness of the general ledger accounts, including intercompany and multi-currency transactions.
* Ensure accurate recording of prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and provisions.

Month-End & Year-End Closing:

* Lead the month-end closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met.
* Coordinate with relevant departments (AP, AR, FP&A) to ensure complete transactions.
* Support year-end close processes and ensure readiness for the annual audit.

Financial Reporting:

* Participate in preparing financial statements and internal management reports.
* Support financial analysis and variance reporting in coordination with FP&A.

Audit & Compliance

* Liaise with external auditors, providing required documentation and schedules.
* Ensure adherence to IFRS and company accounting policies.
* Maintain adequate documentation for all transactions and approvals for audit readiness.

Tax & VAT Support

* Assist in VAT reconciliation and reporting.
* Support preparation of tax schedules and filings in coordination with the tax team.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s / master’s degree in accounting, Finance. (CA /CMA / ACCA will be preferred).

Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting under full IFRS.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS, hands-on ERP experience (preferably Dynamics 365), proficiency in Excel.

Soft Skills: High attention to detail, analytical thinking, time management, communication, and problem-solving.

Language: Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
