What you'll do:
The Quality Plant Engineering leader is a direct report to the PRSQ/EPQ/FQM manager and dotted line to Quality Plant Engineering Manager.
He leads the quality plant engineering team in charge of his perimeter (Prop. Systems).
On his meta function perimeter, in order to guarantee the customer satisfaction including warranty results in field and the plant efficiency, he leads the supplier quality, the plant quality convergence and manages the product/process evolutions in serial life.
As a Serial Life Quality Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Advancing Customer Quality
• Animate customer quality through supplier quality animation, customer feedback, networks, and supplier/customer Obeyas
• Escalate issues to the Quality Plant Engineering Manager and/or FQM Manager when needed
• Ensure lessons learned are fed back to the Design Team
• Oversee sensitive quality processes (noise, geometry, sealing, etc.)
2. Ensure Serial Life product updates & cost-saving events
• Evaluate and restore hand-over at ENG milestones to anticipate drift
• Lead change points and implement actions to secure production flow
3. Support the plant in production safety
• Support teams in analyzing factory and supplier non-conformities
• Lead partners/suppliers in rollback actions when non-conformities are confirmed
• Protect the customer by implementing containment or rework actions
• Formalize and drive redesign solutionsand hand over to the Life-Series
4. Guarantee the robustness of the plant monitoring plan
• Deploy and maintain the monitoring plan on-site
• Supervise performance at control/rework stations
• Perform Layered Process Audits (LPA) on sensitive points in the production flow
• Lead maturity audits, share results, and track convergence actions
5. Lead the plant-attached team & drive quality performance
• Build and manage the team’s workload and priorities
• Ensure structured problem-solving and risk management
• Drive KPI convergence (DVx defects/vehicle, DRR, PPM, SCA audit)
• Manage team skill mapping and cross-functional capabilities
What you'll bring:
* Enginering degree in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university (other Engineering degrees, in combination with relevant experience may be considered)
* Minimum of 8 years of related experience
* Previous experience in Engineering Department, Vehicle/mechanic Plant or Project team
* Ability to lead an Engineering team to deliver product changes and launches on time
* Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal from High Level Meetings down to the Shop Floor
* Self-motivated and directed
* Ability to thrive in a high intensity environment while working on multiple projects
* Rigorous and pragmatic
* Languages: plant language & English
