About the Job

We are looking for a Microalgae Laboratory Culture Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the cultivation of microalgae in semi-closed photobioreactors, monitoring culture performance, ensuring product quality and traceability, and supporting biomass production while maintaining compliance with laboratory, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare culture media and maintain sterile operating conditions.

• Operate and monitor microalgae cultures in semi-closed photobioreactors.

• Monitor and analyze key process parameters, including pH, salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), electrical conductivity (EC), and optical density (OD).

• Perform inoculations, sampling, microscopy, cell counting, and contamination control.

• Support biomass harvesting, drying, and packaging operations.

• Record production data and prepare regular activity reports.

• Perform quality control activities and ensure compliance with SOPs, HACCP, and ONSSA requirements.

• Collaborate with the Production and Maintenance teams to optimize operational performance.

• Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree (Bac+3 or equivalent) in Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or a related field.

• 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory, biotechnology, or industrial production environment.

• Knowledge of microalgae cultivation, photobioreactor operations, microscopy, and laboratory quality control.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
