About the role: We're looking for an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to take ownership of our infrastructure and systems architecture. In this role, you'll lead the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of mission-critical systems that support our business and customers.
You'll work closely with engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure our infrastructure is secure, scalable, and highly available. Beyond technical leadership, you'll mentor engineers, establish best practices, and help shape the future of our technology roadmap.

What you'll do:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure.
- Lead systems architecture decisions and establish engineering standards and best practices.

- Manage system integrations, upgrades, patching, and ongoing maintenance.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business and technical initiatives.
- Lead technical projects from planning through execution.
- Mentor and support other engineers through knowledge sharing and technical guidance.
- Improve operational efficiency through automation and scripting.

Qualifications:
- 7+ years of professional experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Systems Administration.
- 2+ years of experience leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, or serving in a senior or lead engineering role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Technical Skills:
- Strong background in systems engineering and infrastructure design for scalable, secure, and highly available environments.
- Hands-on experience administering Linux and/or Windows Server environments.
- Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across complex production systems.
- Experience supporting production environments and resolving critical infrastructure incidents.
- Solid understanding of virtualization, containerization, and cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, infrastructure security, and system performance optimization.
- Experience with automation and scripting using tools such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and configuration management tools.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize work, manage multiple initiatives, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working effectively in remote or distributed teams.
- Passion for mentoring others and promoting engineering best practices.

- Industry certifications in Linux, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), virtualization, or systems engineering.
