Description of the Job:
The HSE Officer will support the implementation of the company’s HSE policies and procedures, ensure safe work practices across project sites, and contribute to maintaining a strong safety culture. The role includes monitoring site activities, conducting inspections, delivering safety inductions, and assisting in incident investigations.
Main Specifications:
• Assist the HSE Manager / Senior HSE Officer in daily HSE operations.
• Apply and implement the Company’s IMS (HSE aspects) throughout the project duration.
• Ensure all activities within the assigned area are carried out in accordance with Company HSE policies and procedures by both Company and subcontractor personnel.
• Deliver HSE induction courses, toolbox talks, and communicate hazards to all relevant personnel.
• Ensure appropriate controls and contingency measures are in place for work activities.
• Actively participate in the investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents, and near misses.
• Take prompt corrective action regarding potential HSE hazards and report to the HSE Manager.
• Maintain and participate in schedules for meetings, emergency drills, inspections, and audits.
• Respond promptly to reports of non-compliance, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, accidents, or near misses.
• Participate in the follow-up and close-out of corrective actions arising from operations, meetings, incidents, drills, inspections, and audits.
• Provide guidance and support to Assistant HSE Officers.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or other related field.
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent recognized HSE qualification preferred.
• Additional HSE certifications (OSHA, IOSH, IMS) are an advantage.
Experience:
• 3 to 5 years of experience as an HSE Officer within construction, marine, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
• Effective communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience conducting toolbox talks, site inspections, and safety inductions.
