Description

Africa50 is a pan-African infrastructure investor and asset manager that contributes to Africa's growth by developing and investing in bankable projects, catalyzing public sector capital, and mobilizing private sector funding.

The HR Intern will contribute to key functional areas of Human Resources, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, and employee engagement. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in day-to-day HR activities while gaining valuable exposure to HR systems and practices. The intern will contribute to ensuring a smooth employee experience, from hiring to integration and development, while also supporting a high-functioning and inclusive work environment.

Main Responsibilities

The HR intern will support our HR Manager - Talent Acquisition, Performance & Development as well as work directly with team members in the HR department. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Support The Recruitment Process


* Support the recruitment process by drafting job descriptions, posting jobs on job boards, contacting candidates, scheduling interviews, and tracking interview progress, and following up with both candidates and hiring managers.
* Assist in planning and coordinating onboarding activities and welcome programs for new employees.
* Manage and update candidates’ applications in the HR system
* Coordinate communication with our global talent acquisition partners.
* Act as the point of contact for employees and hiring managers regarding recruitment and onboarding questions.

Support Performance Management and Training & Development


* Help track and support employee performance review processes using the performance management system.
* Assist in the planning and coordination of HR-related events, such as team building activities, employee engagement initiatives, and internal trainings and events.

Support HR Administration


* Prepare HR documents such as employment letters, onboarding letters, guides and reports.
* Collaborate with different HR team members to support day-to-day operations and ongoing initiatives.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications & Experience


* At least a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or in any other related discipline.
* Experience of at least one previous HR internship.
