* Able to commit 20+ hours per week and begin within 7 days
* Stable internet connection and quiet working environment
About the Role
We are seeking skilled French transcribers to join a contract-based team working on a large-scale phonetic transcription project. You will work with high volumes of recorded French speech and transcribe each utterance using the ARPABET phoneme set. This work requires more than standard transcription—it demands linguistic precision and a strong understanding of how spoken language differs from written text.
This is a fully remote, project-based role with consistent weekly hours. The project will begin with a short paid pilot, and high-performing candidates will be invited to continue long-term.
Key Responsibilities
* Transcribe batches of French audio using ARPABET phonemic notation
* Identify pronunciation patterns, reading errors, hesitations, and speech disfluencies
* Ensure annotations are consistent, accurate, and aligned with provided guidelines
* Collaborate with a quality assurance team to meet performance benchmarks
