About the Role

We’re looking for a Football Journalist to join the editorial team of TopMercato.com, one of France’s leading football news platforms within the North Star Network group.

This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes football — a journalist who can write quickly, accurately, and with personality, while keeping pace with the constant flow of football news and the demands of digital publishing.

You’ll work closely with the editorial team to deliver daily news, in-depth analyses, exclusive interviews, and creative features that inform, engage, and inspire football fans.

Key Responsibilities

* Cover daily football news — write and publish timely, reliable, and well-structured articles that meet editorial standards and SEO best practices.
* Conduct interviews with players, coaches, or experts when relevant (a strong contact network is a plus).
* Produce long-form content, including analyses, tactical breakdowns, player profiles, transfer insights, or engaging “Top 10” features.
* Pitch creative ideas for new topics, angles, and editorial formats that align with TopMercato’s tone and audience expectations.
* Collaborate with editors and other contributors to ensure consistency, quality, and originality across all content.

What We’re Looking For

* Experience level: 1–3 years in sports journalism
* Solid knowledge of football and sports journalism (news, analysis, transfers, tactics).
* Strong understanding of editorial norms and content structure (tone, clarity, deadlines).
* Basic knowledge of SEO best practices.
* Excellent command of written French (native-level).
* Working knowledge of another language (English, Spanish, or Italian is a plus).
* Basic understanding of how to use football data and statistics to enrich articles.
