Job Summary
The Finance Trainee supports the Finance Department in daily accounting and financial operations while gaining practical experience in financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and compliance with company policies and financial procedures
Your activities
- Assist in processing supplier invoices and employee expense claims.
- Support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Prepare and update financial records and accounting documents.
- Assist in bank, cash, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate filing of financial documents (electronic and physical).
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist in preparing journal entries and accounting adjustments.
- Verify the accuracy of invoices and supporting documentation.
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up when required.
- Assist in preparing customer invoices and account statements.
- Support petty cash management and reconciliation.
- Prepare payment requests in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist in maintaining fixed asset records.
- Support budget preparation and budget monitoring activities.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
- Collect and analyze financial data for management reporting.
- Support internal and external audit activities by preparing the required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and internal controls.
- Assist in preparing tax-related documentation under supervision.
- Update financial databases, spreadsheets, and ERP systems.
- Support payroll-related finance activities when required.
- Coordinate with other departments regarding finance-related requests.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance Department.
- Perform administrative duties related to finance operations.
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager.
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing one) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous internship experience is an advantage but not required.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Sage, etc.) is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information.
- Good command of English and French; Arabic is an asset.
