Role Overview:

The Expert 3D Harness Development Engineer leads the design, validation, and industrialization of electrical wiring harnesses within a PLM‑driven environment. They ensure technical robustness, cost and schedule convergence, supplier coordination, and the quality of all 3D/2D deliverables across the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Projects needs analysis — Understand functional, technical, and environmental requirements to define the appropriate harness solutions.

  • Cost & schedule negotiation — Lead technical and planning discussions, secure commitments, and ensure convergence with stakeholders.

  • Weekly reporting & meeting facilitation — Prepare dashboards, animate weekly project reviews, track KPIs, and escalate risks with mitigation plans.

  • Quality control of deliverables — Validate 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and PLM data for compliance and completeness.

  • Design robustness — Guarantee component reliability through design reviews, technical assessments, and risk analysis.

  • 3D routing development in CATIA V6 — Create and optimize harness routings, manage interfaces, and ensure mechanical and electrical constraints are respected.

  • 3D/2D harness leadership — Oversee consistency between 3D models, 2D schematics, and electrical definitions.

  • 2D drawing creation — Produce harness drawings for supplier RFQs, including Modular Capital XC documentation.

  • PLM reference management — Create, update, and structure harness references within the PLM system.

  • Supplier follow‑up — Coordinate technical exchanges, validate supplier proposals, and monitor quality and delivery performance.

Technical Skills

  • Expert proficiency in CATIA V6 / – Electrical Harness Design & Installation.

  • Deep knowledge of harness components, connectors, protections, and electrical standards.

  • Strong command of PLM environments

  • Ability to analyze mechanical, thermal, and vibratory constraints impacting harness routing.

  • Advanced knowledge in 2D schematics, drawings, BOMs, and supplier consultation packages.

  • Experience in supplier management and engineering change processes (ECR).

Soft Skills:

  • Technical leadership and ability to guide junior engineers.

  • Strong communication with internal teams and external partners.

  • High level of rigor, autonomy, and attention to detail.

  • Negotiation and decision‑making capabilities.

  • Problem‑solving mindset and proactive approach.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in harness development, including project or technical leadership.

  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, rail, defense, or similar industries.
