KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prepare H/S/E plans, review procedures and instructions relevant to the project and make the appropriate corrections to ensure their alignment to the overall system and applicable requirements.

  • Plan, organize and prioritize work within area of responsibility so that resources are used effectively and work is completed within the set deadlines.

  • Develop internal and external communication channels to ensure the proper implementation of the system.

  • Set objectives and action plans, and monitor the operational performance of the relevant project with regards to the preset objectives.

  • Intervene in case of emergencies or major problems on-site and take the appropriate measures to prevent their redundancy.

  • Plan and conduct regular on-site inspections and audits to verify the application of relevant procedures and guidelines and make appropriate recommendations to correct discrepancies.

  • Review and validate reports, undertakes analysis, prepared ad-hoc documentation when needed, develop recommendations, and provide professional guidance and support relating to own area of specialty.

  • Coordinate with the Project Manager regarding H/S/E staffing issues and provide recommendations regarding the transfer of H/S/E staff in order to fulfil the projects’ needs.

  • Liaise with the client/legal authorities where the project is executed to be constantly up-to-date with applicable requirements and ensure compliance at all levels.

  • Attend meetings, evaluate on-site H/S/E practices and come up with recommendations and alternatives for continual improvement at the project level.

  • Provide guidance and support to subordinates and project line managers on matters relevant to H/S/E; define the list of topics that should be discussed during internal meetings and conduct internal trainings/awareness sessions for topics of high complexity.

  • Enforce leaning culture at all levels to improve team’s performance and enhance the level of knowledge within the organization.

  • Manage and motivate the team, appraise their work performance and recommend adequate trainings to enhance their motivation and improve their performance.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.

  • NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6, GradIOSH, CMIOSH, CSP, or equivalent internationally recognized safety qualification.

  • Minimum 10 years of SHE experiences.

  • Minimum 5 years in a managerial or leadership role on major construction, industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects.

  • Experience in Waste-to-Energy, Power Generation, Utilities, EPC, Environmental, or Infrastructure projects is a plus.

  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, LNG is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.

  • Experience with contractor management, risk assessment, incident investigation, permit-to-work systems, emergency response, and environmental compliance.

  • Proven ability to lead and promote a positive safety culture across large, multicultural project teams.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.

  • Good planning, organization and auditing capabilities.

  • Good team building and leadership skills.

  • English and French languages skills – written and spoken.
