Role Description
Eloquation Agency is on the lookout for a skilled, independent bilingual technical editor to partner with its team on a contractual, as-needed basis. No benefits are included.
You will be tasked with:
* Editing technical standards to ensure linguistic clarity, coherence, and correctness, in addition to adherence to the style guide.
* Proofreading documents to ensure that all elements are present and correct.
* Reviewing and correcting translations of technical documentation between English and French to improve linguistic precision.
Role Requirements
* A bachelor's degree in a related field. Completion of an Editing Certificate is an asset.
* At least 5 years of proven experience in copy editing and proofreading, where copy editing was your primary role and you regularly worked on technical documentation. Outstanding grammar and syntax, a methodical approach and a strong attention to detail are mandatory.
* Familiarity with the language of technical fields, either through your education and/or previous employment in a technical industry (e.g., construction, engineering, healthcare), is an asset.
* Fluency in both English and French, with the ability to edit technical content proficiently in both languages.
* Continuous improvement, a growth mindset and a dedication to maintaining the highest standards of precision and editorial quality in every project undertaken. The ability to excel in a remote work environment, demonstrating effective communication, time management, integrity and collaboration skills.
* An availability of at least 20h/week.
