Job Overview:
This is a vital on-site position in our growing Moroccan operations. As our Local Accounting Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining day-to-day financial records, ensuring compliance with Moroccan accounting standards, and supporting both Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes. You will work closely with our Finance team in Rotterdam and Cluj and ensure smooth financial administration within a multicultural logistics environment. An international role within a progressive and growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage daily accounting entries according to Moroccan GAAP in SAP S4 Hanna
* Process and reconcile accounts payable: supplier invoices, expense claims, payment scheduling, supported by AP administrators in Cluj.
* Handle accounts receivable: issue invoices, monitor collections, and follow up with customers, as per local requirements, support by collectors in Cluj.
* Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow, supported by the Finance Operations team in Cluj.
* Prepare monthly closings and provide local reporting to HQ.
* Maintain accurate records for audits and assist with internal/external audits.
* Ensure timely VAT filings and local tax compliance.
* Support payroll administration and social security declarations in cooperation with People’s Department.
* Assist with the implementation of local accounting software or integration with HQ systems.
Qualifications:
* University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Minimum of 4 to 6 years’ experience in accounting roles within Morocco.
* Strong understanding of Moroccan tax regulations and accounting standards.
* Fluent in French; Arabic is a plus.
* English proficiency required to coordinate with HQ.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage, Ciel, or local equivalents).
* High level of accuracy, discretion, and reliability.
